Type Of Computer's

A computer can be classified on several basics which is shown below:

A computer which is based on the basics of electronic or the operating system principle, They can be classified into :

a.Analog computer.

b.Digital computer.

c.Hybrid computer.

Analog Computer

Analog computer operates on input of continuously verifying electrical voltage. It measure the input rather than counting. These are powerful tools to solve differential equations.  They are mainly used in scientific design's and production environment's.

Digital Computer
All quantities are expressed as discrete digits or numbers and done with numerical digits. Mathematical expressions are represented as binary digits such as (0 and 1) and remaining all operations are done using these binary digits at a very high rate.

The digital computer basically knows addition. It converts other operations into addition then calculate. It is so much faster than the analog computer, computations are far more accurate.
Hybrid Computer
Hybrid computer combined the features of both analog and digital computers. In this computer some calculations are done in the analog portion of the computer and some done in the digital portion of it.

 

➤A computer which is based on the basics of personal of use, They can be classified into :

a. Special purpose computer.

b. General purpose computer.

Special Purpose Computer 

Special purpose computer is tailor made soley to cater to the requirements of a particular task or application.

Example:-Weather forecasting, power loom machine etc..

General purpose computer

The general purpose computer is basically designed to meet the needs of many different applications. The instructions was needed to perform a particular task are not wired permanently into the internal memory.

                                                      

Example:- Office work, way-bills, documents etc...

➤A computer which is based on the basics of size, They can be classified into 5 types. They are:

a.Portable Computer.

b.Desktop Computer.

c.Mini Computer.

d.Mainframe Computer.

e.Super Computer.

Portable Computer 

portable computer is very small easily carried to anywhere they we go. Business executives,travelling salesman etc use it. This group includes pen based computer, hand held computer, note book computer and laptop computer.

Desktop Computer Or PC (personal computer)

A Personal computer can be defined as a small and inexpensive computer designed for an individual user. It is larger then portable computers. PC's are based on the microprocessor technology that enables manufacturers to put an entire CPU on a single chip.

It is normally used as a desktop and hence the name called "Desktop Computer" Or PC. It can be used example like: business purpose for word processing, Accounting, desktop publishing, and for running spreed sheet and database management applications. At home, the most popular we used for personal computers is playing games and surfing Internet.

Mini Computer 

Mini Computer is a medium sized computer that is costlier and more popular then a micro-computer. This can be support several users at a time, with multi-terminal time sharing system. These are mostly uses in business, medium sized organizations, universities and government departments. 

It is a medium size multi-processing system capable of supporting up to 250 users simultaneously.

Mainframe Computer

Mainframe is very large in size and also expensive computer capable of supporting hundreds or even thousands of users simultaneously. Mainframe can executes many programs concurrently and supports many simultaneous execution of programs.

They have large storage of capacities which is having of very high speed of processing. They must me kept in A/C which are used in companies, banks,governments departments etc..

Super Computer

Supercomputers are one of the fastest computers currently available. Super computers are very expensive and are employed for specialized applications that require immense amount of mathematical calculations (number crunching). 

For example: weather forecasting, scientific simulations, graphics, fluid dynamic calculations, nuclear energy research, electronic design, and analysis of geological data.
